Stellantis-Toyota electric van slated for European market release in mid-2024
MANILA: Stellantis and Toyota Motor Europe (TME) will together build a large commercial van (LCV) with a battery electric version. The product will be an expansion of the two carmakers' existing partnership, and will complete a full LCV lineup, with compact-, mid- and now also a large-size LCV.

In 2012, Stellantis and TME’s collaboration started with Toyota’s midsize LCV produced at Stellantis’ Hordain plant in France. This was followed in 2019 by a compact-size LCV produced at Stellantis’ plant in Vigo, Spain.For the European-market LCV, Stellantis will supply TME with the new large-size commercial van under the Toyota brand. The new vehicle will be produced at Stellantis’ plants in Gliwice, Poland and Atessa, Italy. Planned for mid-2024, the new large-size commercial van marks TME’s first entry into the large-size commercial vehicle segment.

The future LCV deepens the collaboration, while allowing Toyota to complete a full LCV lineup in Europe. At the same time, both companies are expected to benefit from development and production cost optimization.
