Suzuki Baleno Spied with turbo-Petrol power mill in India
MANILA: Suzuki is playing some twists and turns with their latest offering Baleno. This car with BoosterJet configured engine under the hood is been spotted in Southern India which may impact heavily over the competition. Suzuki Baleno is one of the premium hatchback from the automaker. Baleno was launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It combines a streamlined design with technological modernization. Till date, the Baleno was offered with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of delivering 83 bhp of maximum power and 115 Nm of peak torque and a 1.3-litre diesel engine knocking out 74 bhp and 190 Nm. The initial model offered is available in metallic blue colour.
Recently, the strange thing spotted was a black colour Suzuki Baleno which is not available in the current lineup. The model was spotted near Cochin and it was clear that the model is under test with an upgraded 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine. The turbocharged petrol engine comes with three cylinders, churning out a maximum power of 110 BHP and 170 Nm of peak torque. The engine gets paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Also, the automaker has added some more safety features like tyre pressure monitoring system, all-wheel disc brakes, radar-enabled brake support, and side airbags. From inside, the car gets premium seat fabric which is close enough to the existing one. In India, Suzuki is set to launch the hatchback by mid-2016 with a powerful engine. As of now, the new Baleno has also acquired a kerb weight of 950 kg which is 85 kg more than the regular Baleno. As per the reports, the company is planning to make the Baleno stand against the VW Polo and other prominent hatchbacks.
