Suzuki Baleno to be Premiered at 66th Frankfurt Show
MANILA: It seems that Suzuki is all set to add another gem to its already well-studded premium hatchback line-up. Following the iK-2 concept, showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Baleno is said to be its transformed production version. Suzuki has announced that its 'ideal hatchback' will be revealed to the media on 15th September. The Motor Show, however, commences from 17th September and will be an eight-day event, wherein the public will witness a number of debuts.
The all new Baleno is said to follow a design language that combines stylish new looks, airy interior and is integrated with many technological transformations. Under the hood, the hatchback will house the newly developed 1.0L BOOSTJET direct injection turbocharged petrol engine. The reduced engine capacity will improve its fuel economy, also power and torque counts will be higher than before as claimed by the company. Further contributing to its efficiency is its lightweight and rigid body, delivering dynamic performance.
The teaser video released by Suzuki shows a not so stylish Baleno as compared to its concept sibling. At the front profile, it holds an extended pair of headlights along with a chrome plated trim surrounding its black grille. Moving to the rear end, the roof spoiler and bold looking tail lights does not fail to catch one's attention. However in terms of body measurements the new hatchback is believed to replicate the iK-2 concept that read as 4023 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1450 mm tall.
No detailed specs were revealed by Suzuki in its press release, but it contained some happy news for the U.S. market, where the five-door hatchback will go on sale from next summer.
