Suzuki teases the 2019 Ciaz facelift

MANILA: It was not a very long time back when we spotted the Ciaz facelift in an undisguised form. From the pictures, it was evident that the 2019 Ciaz facelift launch will take place anytime in the future. The news is official now as the Japanese automaker has released a few teaser shots of the upcoming sedan, which is due in two to three weeks time.

 

The pictures, however, do not reveal the entire car rather displays it in bits and pieces. While a picture shows the roofline with Ciaz emblem, the others reveal its new headlamps and updated front grille. According to the sources, the Ciaz facelift will feature a new 1.5-litre engine for the ditching the old 1.4-litre unit.

The 1.5-litre power mill in talks here can also be seen doing duty on the Ertiga launched in Indonesia. It produces 13 PS more power and is 8 Nm torquier than the old 1.4-litre engine, values for the new power unit are rated at 105 PS and 138Nm. However, if this power unit will make its way to the Philippines is still not known. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement regarding the same.

The teaser images are similar to the ones spied earlier, hence it confirms that it is the same camouflage model seen a few weeks ago. The 2019 Ciaz will feature new headlamps with LED DRL, restyled taillights, multi-spoke alloy rims, an updated grille, and a new bumper.

Though interior images of the Ciaz facelift are not officially out yet, from the spy shots taken earlier it can be said that the top-end model would have faux wood trim while the cabin would sport a dual-tone greige theme. Moreover, expect minor tweaks on its instrument panel and steering wheel, which is expected to host an updated set of controls.

The Ciaz facelift is set for a global debut next few weeks but it is to be confirmed when will it be launched in the SouthEast Asian markets? We expect a good delay of a year or two though. However, if Thailand and Indonesia get it in a few months then possibilities of it getting launched in the Philippines would definitely become brighter.
