Suzuki worldwide car sales from Jan.-May 2024 reaches more than 1.4M

MANILA: Suzuki Motor Corporation sold 1,408,881 units from January-May 2024. The Japanese brand shared the aforementioned in a report detailing its latest global and domestic sales, production, and export figures. 

Within the same span of time, the marque sold 316,508 units in its home market. Its overseas divisions, on the other hand, sold a total of 1,092,373 cars for the first five months of 2024. 

Notably, Suzuki's largest overseas market is India, which saw 777,083 cars sold from January to May. Other territories worldwide, meanwhile, saw 315,290 units sold in the same time period. 

In terms of sales performance for the month of May alone, the car company sold a total of 264,775 cars worldwide. Out of the said number, 55,546 cars were sold in Japan, and 209,229 vehicles were retailed in other areas outside the brand’s home country. 

In relation to the local market, 7,975 vehicles rolled off from Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s dealership network from January to May 2024, according to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated and Truck Manufacturer’s Association. 

Concerning production figures from the start of the year until May 2024, the carmaker’s overseas manufacturing plants churned out 1,007,544 units, while its Japan-based factories made 433,808 cars. The aforementioned adds up to a global production figure of 1,441,352 units for the first five months of 2024.  

For May 2024 alone, the Shizuoka-based mobility manufacturer’s overseas production saw 211,229 units made, while its Japanese plants made a total of 83,157 vehicles. 

The automobile company also exported 103,393 units from Japan to other regions from January to May.
