Tesla’s Cyberquad ATV to launch in 2021 as an add-on to the Cybertruck
MANILA: With the recent presentation of the Cybertruck, Elon Musk also briefly introduced an electric ATV, the Cyberquad. As if an afterthought, the Cyberquad was rolled-out onto the stage to the back of the Cybertruck.
It is not unusual for Tesla to unveil a surprise vehicle. It has done so in its past events like in 2017 when Musk revealed the Tesla Roadster as a special surprise alongside the Semi truck. But this time around, there was little rumour of the ATV.
Later on, Tesla confirmed that the new Tesla ATV will be sold as an add-on to the Cybertruck. On a Tweet, Elon Musk said stating that “we’ll aim to have it come out the same time as the truck. Two-seater electric ATV designed to work with Cybertruck will be fun!”
The two-person all-electric all-terrain vehicle features the same angular design motif as the truck. Though technical specifications are yet to be published,
expect it to be released at the same time as the Cybertruck as it will be exclusively offered, at least for now, as an add-on option. The Cybertruck is set to enter production in late 2021 in three configurations:
- Single-motor rear-wheel drive with over 250 miles of range
- Dual-motor all-wheel drive with over 300 miles of range
- Tri-motor all-wheel drive with over 500 miles of range
The Cyberquad can roll on and off and fits perfectly on the Cybertruck bed thanks to the truck’s adjustable suspension. It can also be charged while on the truck’s bed though not wirelessly. There are 110-volt and 240-volt power sockets at the back of the Cybertruck for utilitarian purposes.
