The New Cruze of the Chirpy Chevy

MANILA: General Motors, the American auto brand’s one of the divisions known as Chevrolet, famous as Chevy amongst us, has revealed its 2016 Cruze in Detroit. The makers say that the new Cruze is longer, more aerodynamic in looks yet 250 pounds lighter. It is more powerful, efficient, safe, and quiet with a standard new turbocharged motor.

The name Cruze makes me recall that how this car was a huge success in the markets of States and helped GM in building a global image by recording sales of 3.5 million units. “We retained all the attributes that made the original Cruze a hit around the globe and built on them to make this car more sophisticated, more fun,” said Alan Batey, GM’s North American president.

When compared with the previous model, the new Cruze is 68 mm longer, 25 mm shorter in height and lighter with extensive use of aluminum. Its makeover consist of sculpted hood, refurbished front grille, remade fog lamps, new LED headlights, revamped rear bumper, and modified taillights. It is also fitted with a shark fin antenna, rear lip spoiler and third brake light too.

Lower and leaner outside has premium inside in terms of luxury, space, and softer features. Along with the Chevrolet's standard MyLink infotainment system there is also a redesigned instrument panel. Extra room comes at the back seat and in the form of rear knee space. In addition, the cabin receives mixtures of accents ranging from piano black to matte black finishes and chrome trims.

This is not the end, the car is updated in terms of safety features as well which includes Forward Collision Alert, Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep assist, ten standard airbags, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The engine which lies beneath the bonnet is the 1.4-liter turbo engine that generates power of 155 PS and torque of 240 Nm.
