The Sixth-generation 2018 Volkswagen Polo rendering
MANILA: The fifth generation of 5-door hatchback Volkswagen Polo was introduced at the 2009 Geneva Motor show, which is also the present day VW Polo. Now, the hatchback is all set to enter its Sixth generation by 2018. The rendering of the sixth-generation 2018 Volkswagen Polo is under process and it says a lot about its design and features.
According to the rendering done by Theophillus Chin, the new VW Polo will be inspired from the latest VW Tiguan, VW Passat, and VW Touran. Moreover, It will be based on the MQB platform. The design complies of latest accent and curves used on other sub-compact hatchback models.
The 2018 VW Polo is likely to be powered by three or four- cylinder engine offered in both gasoline and diesel variants. The engine will get displacement in between 1.0-liter to 1.8-litre, coupled to a 5-speed and 6-speed MT. However, it is expected to be continued with the optional standard DSG automatic transmission as well.
The former Chairman of the Board of Management of VW Passenger Cars, Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser, stated that the sixth-gen VW Polo will be manufactured on the MQB modular platform. Also, it will be the MQB A0, which is the smallest version of the MQB platform.
The reports say that the sixth-gen VW Polo will share some of its features from the upcoming 2016 Volkswagen Golf.
