MANILA: The upcoming Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is expected to be more exciting as a total of 26 automotive marques — existing, new, and returning — are set to take part in the motoring event.

The exposition is set on April 4-7 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila and SMX Convention Center Manila.According to the organizers, the four-day exhibit (which will be held on April 4-7) is set to showcase the brands namely BAIC, BAW, Bestune, Changan, Chery, Chevrolet, DAF, Dongfeng, Foton, GAC, GWM, Hongqi, Hyundai, Hycan, JAC, Jetour, JMC, Lynk and Co, Kinglong, MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Omoda and Jaecoo, Peugeot, Seres, Subaru, Suzuki, and Weichai.
Aside from numerous brands joining for the year, the latest edition of MIAS — now in its 19th year — will be held in two venues namely World Trade Center Metro Manila and SMX Convention Center Manila, giving exhibitors and event-goers a combined exhibition floor space of 41,000 square meters.
Despite the set-up, a visitor only needs one ticket (priced at P150) to get access on both sites. Aside from that, free shuttle service will be provided throughout the day at designated pickup and drop-off points. The arrangement has made visiting and parking at the said locations more convenient.
Anticipated highlights
The event — dubbed, “Bridging the Future” — will be filled up with segments designed to excite gearheads of all ages.
The Mobility Marathon part is where automotive brands debut their latest offerings while the MIAS-Petron Custom Classic Car Competition highlights some of the best local show cars.
Meanwhile, customers are given a round with their targeted model at the Test Drive Zone and off-road vehicles, camping rigs, and commercial vehicles are to be seen at the Truck Zone area.
Lastly, exhilarating performances and stunts — parallel parking in the tightest space, J-turn in the tightest space, and the fastest donuts, among others — using the latest Subaru models will be seen at the Russ Swift Stunt Show.
Co-presented by BPI Auto Loans, and Shell, this year’s MIAS is also supported by the Automobile Association Philippines and Petron.
The halls for the 2024 MIAS (organized by Worldbex Services International for the benefit of the ABS-CBN Foundation) will be open on the event dates from 10am to 9pm. Exclusive promo tickets can be accessed via https://manilaautoshow.com/.
With two venues to be opened, organizers will likely look at surpassing last year’s visitor count which was more than 149,000.
“Last year, we did about 150,000 visitors. Hopefully, the target is to exceed by about 10-15 percent more,” MIAS co-organizer Alvin Uy told Zigwheels Philippines.
