MANILA: Toyota Motor Corporation has sold a total of 797,097 vehicles globally in April 2024.

According to the Japanese car brand, it handed over 107,947 cars to its domestic customers while the remaining 689,150 units were distributed to its clients overseas.

The aforementioned numbers reflected a 0.5 percent decrease in Toyota’s overall global sales for the same time period in 2023. Likewise, the said report saw the Aichi-headquartered brand’s domestic sale for April (compared to the same month in 2023) drop by 13.9 percent.

On the other hand, the abovementioned figures saw Toyota’s sales for April grow by two percent compared to the same month last year.

To date, Toyota has now sold 3.198 million cars since January 2024.

When it comes to the sale of electric vehicles (EV), Toyota has delivered a total of 305,110 units this April. Some 64,161 were sold in Japan while the remaining 240,949 were sold abroad.

Since January 2024, Toyota has now sold a total of 1.241 million EVs.

It was not specified which of Toyota’s nameplates were its best sellers. In the Philippines, the brand’s roster consists of iconic models like the Vios, Fortuner, Hilux, Raize, and Innova. Toyota Motor Philippines is also pushing for electrification with electrified models like the Yaris Cross and the recently launched Corolla Cross.
