Toyota Camry, Coaster to ferry 2024 APMCDRR delegates

MANILA: A fleet of Toyota Camry and Coaster units will be part of the fleet to be utilized in the upcoming 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR).

This, as Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) signed up to be one of the conference’s official mobility partners forged in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (co-chair of the APMCDRR’s Philippine inter-agency committee).

According to TMP, 25 Camry and two Coaster vehicles shall be deployed to support the transportation needs of the conference participants, which will include ministers of United Nation member states and various international stakeholders.

Around 3,000  global leaders and delegates will join the said meet — set on October 14-18 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City— to address critical disaster risk reduction strategies in the Asia-Pacific region.

 Per TMP, such a collaboration highlights TMP's dedication in promoting sustainable mobility solutions and contributing to disaster risk reduction efforts in the region.

“Toyota believes that electrified mobility is one of the pathways towards a sustainable future for all. We are committed to supporting initiatives that address climate change and promote climate-related risk reduction,” TMP President Masando Hashimoto was quoted as saying.

“TMP is honored to be part of one of the most important gatherings in the Asia-Pacific. We wish for the success of the 2024 APMCDR in leading us with appropriate strategies, making us a region of resilient nations,” he added.

Worldwide, Toyota supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) and aligns its climate action with a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050.
