The jewelry capsule collection was made by Millie Savage.Per Toyota’s wing from the Land Down Under, the company partnered with jewelry designer Millie Savage and diamond creator Heart in Diamond for the said collection, which consists of nine rings, one necklace, one bracelet, a pair of earrings, and in true Millie Savage fashion, a tooth grill.
The aforementioned jewelry uses one-of-a-kind lab-grown diamonds using carbon extracted from components of a pre-production Toyota C-HR.
“This is an incredibly exciting moment for Toyota Australia, working with Heart in Diamonds and Millie Savage to create this world-first collection using carbon sourced from the new C-HR — it is something we are very proud to be involved in,” Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vin Naidoo said.
“Millie’s world-first capsule collection is a chance for us to learn from, and connect with, local creatives, and showcase how inspiration and creativity can be derived from anywhere,” he added.
Toyota CH-R
It’s not difficult to see why Toyota Australia decided to commemorate the hybrid crossover’s launch with a jewelry collection. The Toyota CH-R appears to have been designed and built with plenty of angles — pretty much like the precious stones set on flashy accessories.
It wears a chiseled fascia with a large grille and honeycomb meshwork. The headlamps seem to sit close to the bonnet and create a pattern that zigs and zags along the fore of the vehicle.
Busy are its flanks with its doors sporting muscular curves and bold interlocking geometric forms made more appealing thanks to its flush door handles. Also noticeable are its 19-inch machine-cut wheels that give the Toyota CH-R a sporty yet stylish stance.
Of course, blacked-out wheel arches and durable-looking door claddings envelope the new-energy vehicle from the sides.
Its back end gets a large rear glass with a horizontal light bar on the crossover’s beltline. It also has a wide bumper, which seems to wrap around the lower portion of the hybrid’s hind.
The Toyota CH-R is a crossover powered by a 1.8-liter gasoline engine paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a lithium-ion battery.
According to Toyota Australia, the said setup — mated to a seven-speed continuously variable transmission — makes a total of 138 horsepower and 142 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Toyota Australia also offers a Gazoofied version of the CH-R with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which dishes out 195 horses and 188 Nm of pulling power.
