The All-new Toyota Camry in Thailand makes 227 hp.Per the carmaker, the latest iteration of the executive car combines luxury, outstanding performance, comprehensive convenience functions, and a safety system that surpasses Toyota’s standards.
“Definitely, the Toyota Camry has played an important role in Thailand’s midsize-sedan segment. More importantly, the Camry HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) has been the pioneer of electrified vehicles or xEV in Thailand since local production was started in 2009. Since then, Toyota has added the HEV models and developed the ‘ever-better HEVs’ to serve multiple customers’ needs,” Toyota Motor Thailand Limited President Noriaki Yamashita said in a press release.
“I believe that the all-new Camry will bring the pride of ownership with peace of mind thanks to the superior technology of Toyota hybrid. We set a sales target at 10,000 units per year,” he added.
Hybrid powertrain
Powering the all-new Toyota Camry is a 2.5-liter hybrid engine that dishes out some 183 horsepower (hp) with 221 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It is assisted by an electric motor (alternating current synchronous, permanent magnet) that is able to generate up to 134 hp with 208 Nm.
The total overall output of the all-new Toyota Camry’s hybrid powertrain is rated at 227 horses — more powerful than the HEV model sold here in the country which makes only up to 208 horses.

“The all-new Camry will feature hybrid power across all sub-models, reaffirming our leadership in hybrid vehicles, a reputation we have built in Thailand for over 15 years, with standards recognized globally,” Toyota Motor Thailand Limited Executive Vice President Suphakorn Rattanawaraha noted.
Handling gear shifts is an electrically controlled continuously variable transmission, while disc brakes (front and back) facilitate smooth deceleration and quick halts. The latter are housed inside 18-inch (17-inch on lower variants) alloy wheels, which are shod in 235/45 series tires.
Suspension-wise, the all-new Toyota Camry gets an independent MacPherson strut (with a stabilizer bar) at the front and an independent double wishbone setup (also with a stabilizer bar) at the rear.
Exterior
Outside, the range-topping version of the all-new Toyota Camry wears an updated fascia with an updated grillework that has honeycomb elements. The lights have also been upgraded with a sharper design and the bonnet now has a more sculptured look.
Its side profile now has more noticeable bodylines with chiseled sill garnishes. The wheels have more dimensions, which matches the car’s more muscular aesthetic.
At the back, the all-new Toyota Camry has more pronounced lines and a fairly distinct contoured rump, which appears to give it a sexy rear end while still maintaining its new ripped physique.

Past the abovementioned steering wheel is a 12.3-inch thin-film transistor multi-information screen with a head-up display. It is accompanied by a 12.3-inch infotainment unit with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connected to a nine-speaker JBL sound system.
