Toyota, Lexus retail over 160k units in PH for Jan.-Oct. 2023

MANILA:  Toyota and Lexus was able to sell a total of 162,229 units in the Philippines from January-October 2023 — which is 15.5 percent versus the same period last year.

In October alone, the Japanese carmaker delivered 17,997 units across the country, which is 15.9-percent higher than its sales in the same month in 2022. 

Globally, Toyota and Lexus sold a total of 8,461,974 vehicles from October year-to-date sales for the year, corresponding to a 6.7-percent increase versus the same period last year.

Sales inside Japan in the first 10 months of 2023 reached 1,418,061 — rising by 31.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, 6,278,668 units were sold outside Japan, reflecting a 2.5-percent increase.

In October alone, the Japanese carmaker delivered 890,241 units to customers all over the world, which is seven percent higher than its sales in the same month last year. 133,996 of Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in October were delivered in Japan, while 756,245 were sold in global markets.

A total of 2,995,438 electrified vehicles were sold by Toyota and Lexus globally in the first 10 months of the year, corresponding to a 31.8-percent increase versus the same period in 2022. These include hybrid, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, and battery electric models.

Toyota Motor Corporation also reported its production figures in the first 10 months of 2023. They were able to produce a total of 8,304,495 Toyota and Lexus units — 900,285 of which were produced in October.

2,785,033 were produced in Japan from January to October 2023, while 5,519,462 were produced in Toyota's global production facilities.
