Toyota Motor PH, Carlos Yulo holds 2-day gymnastics camp for young athletes

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines, together with 2024 Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, has successfully conducted the “Start Your Impossible” two-day gymnastics camp. 

The program was held at the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines MVPSF Gym, and it focused on empowering and inspiring young gymnasts to continue honing their skills and becoming better athletes overall. 

Actual training for the athletes was headed by Yulo, with the aid of coach Aldrin Castañeda of GAP. During the two-day training camp, the world-class gymnast provided three intensive training sessions to 30 young gymnasts aged seven to 16 from Metro Manila, Davao, and Cebu. Additionally, the young athletes were also given guidance by sports nutritionist Jeanette Aro. 

“Under Toyota’s Start Your Impossible campaign, I recognize my responsibility as a Dual Hero - to not only compete and win but to uplift and mentor the next generation of athletes. This Gymnastics Clinic we’re embarking on, along with a Nutritional Lecture, is a big step towards this mission,” Yulo shared. 

Beyond inspiring the participants to pursue sports, Yulo also set an example for the aspiring gymnasts to become advocates for social good. The Filipino Olympian himself has championed youth development, as well as food security for communities. 

At the closing stages of the gymnastics camp, Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto personally congratulated the participants.

“To our young gymnasts here today, our future champions and medalists, congratulations for completing the Toyota Start Your Impossible Gymnastics Camp. You learned from no other than the Philippines' best gymnast! We hope you remember this experience always,” Hashimoto said. 

To note, Yulo is a Global Team Toyota Athlete. As such, the famous gymnast, along with 250 other Olympians and Paralympians, are supported by the Japanese marque. 

Moreover, TMP also gifted Yulo a brand new Land Cruiser Prado back in August following his duo of gold medal wins at this year’s Olympics in France.
