Toyota PH, Oris Rental Corp. to augment Coca-Cola fleet with 200 vehicles
MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines, Corp. (TMP), the leading automotive company in the Philippines, provided 200 units consisting of the Hilux (pickup), Vios (sedan), and Wigo (hatchback) to Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI).
Working with its leasing partner, Orix Rental Corporation (ORC), TMP will turn over the new Euro 4 compliant-vehicles to the sales personnel of Coca-Cola’s bottling arm in the country, thereby reinforcing an already extensive fleet.
During the ceremonial turnover ceremony at the showroom of Toyota Makati, Inc. (TMI) in Makati City, CCBPI Procurement Director Ronald Tamayo shared his optimism about the newly procured Toyota units through the Toyota Fleet Solutions.
According to him, these will efficiently aid CCBPI associates to attain not just their career goals, but also remain true to their dedication in helping Filipino entrepreneurs.
Tamayo explained, “We serve almost one million sari-sari stores and over 5,000 business partners. (To have) reliable, safe, and efficient vehicles for our sales force is very important in our business operations. More importantly, the safety and well-being of our personnel have always been a priority, and this refresh and update of our service fleet will also allow them to carry out their duties with more safety.”
He added, “We will continue to strengthen our sales team and empower them as they work to reach and serve stores and communities. Having Toyota as our fleet management partner means that we can fulfill our responsibility to our people, who in turn can fulfill their service to our valued stakeholders."
Coca-Cola’s acquisition of Toyota units guarantees that colleagues are adequately equipped and empowered with the appropriate means to accomplish their personal and business objectives, which are also aligned with the People First approach of CCBPI. This gives importance to the well-being and safety of the staff given that the new vehicles also generate cleaner emissions.
The vehicle acquisition is also part of Toyota’s Tools of Trade refresh initiative, wherein older vehicles are disassembled and replaced with new ones.
For the operation of the vehicles, CCBPI entered into an optimum operational lease arrangement with ORC, which will involve overall management, insurance, and periodic maintenance services (PMS) of vehicles.
The initiative coincides with the continuous growth curve of the beverage industry in the Philippines, which involves development through sustained investments.
With a broad selection of vehicles from commuter and passenger vans, pickups, and sedans, TMP is prepared to deal with the mobility needs of firms in different industries.
From the procurement of vehicles to after-sales service and fleet servicing, Toyota Fleet Solutions collaborates with numerous companies to add value to their respective businesses.
TMP First Vice President for New Mobility Business Division Ma. Cristina Fe Arevalo said, “We at Toyota are glad to be helping the country move forward by providing mobility to people and industries, especially now when transportation remains to be a challenge for many. With Toyota's commitment to delivering quality, durability, reliability, and safety, we're confident that our vehicles will further empower CCBPI to deliver products, services, and opportunities to countless families and communities."
