Toyota PH to hold virtual Gazoo Racing GT Cup in select dealerships
MANILA: The Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) GT Cup will now be open to the public in select Toyota dealerships. This is after the virtual motorsports tilt, organized by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), concluded its three rounds.
In the rounds of the GR GT Cup, professional and rookie gamers and racers competed virtually in the Gran Turismo game using the GR Yaris.
TMP said that interested participants can visit these dealerships and approach the Race Stewards to join. Winners will get to take home "exciting merchandise," TMP added. The first public GR GT Cup was held at Toyota Quezon Avenue last October.
The previous rounds were staged at the following virtual tracks: Monza in Italy, Tokyo Expressway and Fuji Speedway in Japan, and Kyoto Driving Park, a Gran Turismo original track. The competitors, divided in three classes, raced using rigs or standard-issue gaming controllers.
In the end, Russel Cabrera from Junior Class, Jether Miole from Promotional Class, and Luis Moreno from the Sporting Class were named the champions of the GR GT Cup. They will take home a cash prize of P100,000 and a brand-new Sony PlayStation 5 each, TMP said.
