How many Toyota GR86 Limited Edition models will be made?
Only 86 units of the Toyota GR86 Limited Edition model will be produced. When and where is the updated Toyota GR86 launching?
The updated Toyota GR86 will be launched in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2024.According to the vehicle manufacturer, the updated GR86 will receive a set of improvements to become a better track car. Specifically, the brand will tweak its dampers for better road feel and feedback. Its electric power steering system will also see improvements in order to provide responsiveness and intuitive handling.
The carmaker also plans to adjust its engine and throttle control for better response and driving feel. The throttle of the manual version, in particular, is touted as more reactive to pedal input. The automatic versions will also receive the benefit of having a wider torque band and a better engine-speed tolerance range when downshifting.
The upcoming Limited Edition model, meanwhile, will offer the all-new Forest Shadow exterior color and several mechanical improvements.
When it comes to handling, the upcoming special edition GR 86 will sport a set of ZF Sachs dampers with linear damping characteristics, which Toyota says will make for more agile handling during spirited driving. At the same time, it will also provide comfort in regular daily driving.
The Limited Edition GR86 will also get red-colored four-piston Brembo brake calipers for the front, and two-piston calipers for the rear. The said brakes are set to replace the two-piston front and rear setup from the stock version of the two-door coupe.
Inside, the upcoming ultra-limited GR86 will have black and tan Ultrasuede and leather-accented upholstery. In addition to the new color mentioned above, its exterior will also sport a set of unique 18-inch bronze alloy wheels.
For now, Toyota has not released an exhaustive specs list or price list for the upgraded GR86 and the Limited Edition version. Nevertheless, the Japanese marque indicated its 2.4-liter boxer-four engine can still produce up to 233 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque.
As of the reveal, Australia will be the first market to receive the updated GR86 and the Limited Edition variant. It is scheduled to be released in the Land Down Under in the fourth quarter (October to December) of 2024, but hopefully, the Philippine market will soon follow.
