Toyota Unveils Next-Gen Tamaraw Concept

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) unveiled the next-generation Tamaraw Concept at the company's 35th anniversary celebration held in Taguig City on Tuesday.

The next-generation Tamaraw Concept was officially introduced by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chairman Akio Toyoda at the event.

The next-gen Tamaraw will be assembled at the Toyota plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Toyota has invested P4.4 billion for the production of the next-gen model here in the Philippines.

“I truly believe there is enormous potential for growth here, from both a business and technology standpoint. In fact, I believe it's the Philippines that could well become the Silicon Valley of Asia,” Toyoda stated in his speech.

Built on the IMV 0 platform, the next-generation Tamaraw Concept can accommodate various body styles. At the event, TMP presented the modern PUV and drift truck configurations of the next-gen Tamaraw.

“The next-generation Tamaraw represents a whole new range of mobility solutions that will enable Filipinos to move their lives forward. It will enable new levels of flexibility for users, especially our MSMEs,” TMP Chairman Alfred Ty said.

The production model of the next-gen Tamaraw Concept will likely be unveiled in 2024.
