Toyota US flaunts electrified portfolio at 2022 Electrify Expo

MANILA: Toyota showcased its electrified lineup at the 2022 Electrify Expo in Long Beach, California from June 3 to 5.

    The 2023 Toyota Tundra i-Force Max boasts an all-new hybrid twin-turbo V6 on the all-new, third-generation Tundra. The powerful powertrain produces 437hp and 583 lb.-ft of torque, but does not compromise efficiency with an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated fuel economy of up to 22mpg (9.3kpl) combined on certain models.

    The 2023 Prius Prime is the plug-in hybrid version of the world’s bestselling hybrid, with an EPA-estimated 54 combined MPG (23kpl) and astounding 640-mile (1,000 kilometer) driving range. It also has an estimated 133 MPGe when fully charged. The Prius Prime is the first Toyota hybrid to use a dual-motor drive system that helps improve acceleration in EV mode for spirited driving of up to an estimated 25 miles (40kms) when fully charged.

    The RAV4 Prime is the most powerful and most fuel efficient RAV4 to date, boasting  an EPA-estimated 42 miles (67kms) on battery alone on a single charge. The RAV4 Prime has up to a manufacturer-estimated 94 combined MPGe along with an impressive 302 combined net horsepower, advanced all-wheel drive, and exclusive design features. 

    2022 Toyota Mirai

    The Mirai, which means future in Japanese, is Toyota’s fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) powered by hydrogen that emits only water from its tailpipe. The second-generation Mirai is built on a rear-wheel drive platform, creating a midsize luxury sport sedan with improved driving performance and an EPA-estimated range of 402 (646kms) miles on the Mirai XLE. The figure is a near 30% increase in range from the first-generation model. 

    At the 2022 Electrify Expo, visitors got to access Toyota's Powertrain Lifestyle digital quiz that pairs users with a powertrain that will best align with their needs. Visitors also got to grab screen printed swag bags printed in real-time on a fully recyclable tote bag wearing a limited-edition design. 

    The 2022 Electrify Expo will head to Seattle next.
