Unique Rolls-Royce Boat Tail makes global public debut at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este
MANILA: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars hosted the global public debut of the “Boat Tail,” a unique coachbuilt masterpiece, at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este last Saturday, October 2.
The coachbuilt was unveiled by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive Officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös. It was made available for viewing for two days only.
When Boat Tail was initially revealed last May, Rolls-Royce already shared images of the car. However, its appearance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is the first time that the car has been displayed in public. Guests and media were invited to evaluate the vehicle’s exceptional coachbuilt construction and remarkable Bespoke detailing, which were crafted at the Home of Rolls-Royce for almost four years.
The Boat Tail represents Rolls-Royce’s commitment to coachbuilding as a central part of its future portfolio. It continues a modern coachbuilding movement that started with Sweptail, the first coachbuilt Rolls-Royce of the contemporary era.
“Boat Tail represents a pivotal moment for the wider luxury goods sector. As a truly hand-built, one-of-a-kind creation, in which both the bodywork and interior are designed and produced to the client’s specification, Rolls-Royce Coachbuild redraws the boundaries of luxury and opens vast new possibilities for patrons of contemporary design and fine craftsmanship,” Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said in a statement.
The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is considered one of the most glamorous international lifestyle events. It was first staged in 1929 on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. This year’s edition was held from October 1 to 3.
