Updated Nissan Almera launched in Thailand, coming soon to PH?

MANILA: Nissan first unveiled the updated Almera for the North American market in October of last year. This model featured minor interior and exterior changes as well as a number of additional intelligent features.

In the present, with similar updates and modifications for the 2023 model year, the redesigned Nissan Almera has made its way to the ASEAN region.

To start, Nissan's iconic V-motion grille has been revised for the redesigned Almera. The B-segment sedan's larger grille, which combines piano black and chrome highlights, gives it a bolder and more aggressive appearance.

While the top-spec Almera for the North American market has 17-inch wheels, the one unveiled in Thailand still has smaller 15-inch alloy wheels. Also noteworthy is the fact that the top-spec VL variant in the Philippines has larger 16-inch wheels than the Thai-spec one. The new Gray Sky Pearl exterior color is also available for the Thai market.

The Almera with Thai specifications gets a new inside color scheme. The updated Almera's color palette has changed from its former black and white to a black and blue one. Nissan Connect Services, a new in-vehicle technology suite that combines entertainment, security, and navigation, has been unveiled. A frameless rear-view mirror and wireless charging are further features.

For the Thai market, the redesigned Almera's powertrain is the same: a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine with 100 PS and 152 Nm of torque coupled to an Xtronic CVT transmission. The addition of cruise control is brand-new for 2023.

The Almera has six SRS airbags as well as cutting-edge driving aids including AEB, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and High-Beam Assist.

As soon as the updated Philippine-spec Almera is made available on the market, specs and features will change. Nissan has not yet released information about when the 2023 Nissan Almera will go on sale in the nation. However, the sedan's premiere in Thailand suggests that it will happen soon.
