US-bound Mini Cooper Resolute SE Edition combines tradition with the future

MANILA: The Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition, a special version of Mini’s all-electric model, was recently unveiled as part of the three new Mini special editions spanning the whole 2023 MY product range. This new all-electric special edition combines heritage-inspired Mini design with cutting-edge EV drive technology to create a bold statement of unique style and sustainable driving fun.

Its exclusive exterior design, based on the fully electric Mini Cooper SE two-door hardtop, gives it a genuine look inspired by the brand’s history. In this way, the Cooper SE Resolute Edition clearly conveys the message that emission-free driving has now become a fundamental part of the brand’s identity and its history of more than 60 years.

The Mini Cooper SE brings the brand’s signature go-kart experience to the world of electric mobility, thanks to its 135kW/181hp electric motor and thrillingly nimble handling. Its EPA range of up to 114 miles allows for a lot of driving fun, whether in the city and on trips outside the urban setting. These characteristics have helped the fully electric Mini become the brand’s most popular model variant, with global sales nearly doubling in 2021.

The Resolute Edition’s exclusive design and equipment have boosted the appeal of sustainable driving. The Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition boasts a sporty look that highlights the brand’s British roots, with a body finished in Rebel Green — formerly reserved for high-performance John Cooper Works models — and contrasting Pepper White for the roof and exterior mirror caps.

The deliberate lack of chrome accents on the exterior gives a glimpse into the future. The signature design features are coated in exclusive Resolute Bronze — including the headlight surrounds, radiator grille, rear lights, the side scuttles on the front side panels, and the door and tailgate handles. The surrounding band at the lower edge of the windscreen, the inner frame of the radiator grille, the brand emblems, and the model inscription are all finished in piano black.

The Resolute Edition’s unique look is further emphasized by specially designed bonnet stripes. They have a pattern made up of parallel lines with a color gradient that goes between a light and a dark shade of gold. The model is also fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels in Electric Collection Spoke design.

The interior of the Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition is enhanced with seats with a light checkered fabric/black pearl leatherette finish, an anthracite-colored roof liner, and black armrests and knee rolls. The lower spoke of the sports steering wheel in Nappa finish carries an edition-specific Mini Resolute logo. The graphic design creates an excellent pinstripe pattern on the interior surfaces, along with the smoothly curved lines in a light golden tone. The exclusive design features of the Resolute Edition unite to provide a flawlessly balanced overall package for premium exterior and interior style.

While the vehicle’s look clearly conveys a sense of history, it has been integrated with cutting-edge driver assistance, infotainment, and connectivity features. The Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition comes standard with Mini’s Driver Assistance Package, which includes a head-up display for increased visibility of vehicle readouts, park assist to aid in safe maneuvering while parking, lane departure warning which vibrates the steering wheel to alert the driver to unintentional lane drifting, and active cruise control with stop and go function.

With its modern graphic display on an 8.8-inch touchscreen, the latest version of the Mini operating system is developed for quick and uncomplicated control of car functions, audio program, communication, navigation and apps. Furthermore, various digital services are available, including Apple CarPlay, all of which are designed to make driving more enjoyable by providing high-quality convenience and entertainment functions.

The Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition will go on sale starting on March and will arrive at US dealers soon after. Pricing starts at US$37,900.
