US-spec 2023 Honda Odyssey now offered in Sport variant

MANILA: The 2023 Honda Odyssey has launched an exciting new Sport variant while maintaining the features that make an ideal family car. Odyssey's first-ever Sport variant boasts a unique styling that exudes a sportier, more dramatic look. Odyssey also introduced the Honda Service Pass, a new complimentary service package that provides buyers of 2023 Honda cars with two years or 24,000 miles of scheduled maintenance at a participating Honda dealership. The 2023 Odyssey EX will be available at US dealerships starting May 23 for US$37,340.

In a statement, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Assistant Vice President for National Sales Mike Kistemaker said, “The new Odyssey Sport will help Odyssey continue to set the standard for minivans in family-friendly features, interior space and sporty driving performance. Odyssey Sport brings more expressive styling to a product our customers have already made America’s retail best-selling minivan since 2010.”

The Odyssey Sport, which sits between the Odyssey EX-L and Touring trim levels, stands out with darkened tail lights, stunning Berlina Black 19-inch wheels, and plenty of gloss black exterior detail. The grille, headlight trim, fog light surrounds, door mirrors, B-pillar, C-pillar, and taillight trim all feature a gloss-black finish.

The steering wheel and first- and second-row seats are covered in black leather with sporty red contrast stitching. The roof pillars and headliner are also black, while the accent lighting on the dash, in the driver and passenger footwells, and in the front door handles and door pockets glows red at night.

The Odyssey Sport comes in four color variants: Sonic Gray Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic. Sonic Gray Pearl is also available in Touring and Elite variants.

The new Sport variant is well equipped, with features such a one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature, power tailgate with programmable height, and an eight-way power adjustable front passenger seat. All 2023 Odyssey variants are powered by a 280hp V6 engine mated to a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The full suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and Pedestrian Emergency Braking, are also standard on Odyssey.

The Odyssey's Magic Slide second-row seats fold almost flat, making them easier to remove, increasing cargo capacity. A Rear Seat Reminder system is also included, and it can be used with the optional CabinWatch child viewing system. Odyssey was the first minivan to be equipped with third-row seats that fold into the floor.

The 2023 Odyssey is also the first model to come with Honda Service Pass, which adds value and peace of mind to Honda buyers by lowering the cost of ownership. The new scheduled maintenance plan, which is available to buyers of eligible 2023 Honda vehicles, covers specific services identified in the vehicle's Maintenance Minder system throughout the plan's active time period and done at a participating Honda dealership. Standard oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections are among the services available.

The 2023 Honda Odyssey is built exclusively at Honda's plant in Lincoln, Alabama, along with the Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline. The V6 engine is likewise made in Alabama, while the 10-speed automatic transmission is made exclusively at Tallapoosa, Georgia.
