US-spec Audi S6 and S7 get Design Edition package option

MANILA: Audi of America has announced a new Design Edition package for the 2023 S6 and S7. The Design Edition package will include 21-inch Platinum Gray Audi Sport wheels, as well as Audi Sport interior details, in addition to the special Arrow Gray body color and Liquid Chrome Dark exterior elements. Starting in June 2022, customers will be able to purchase vehicles with the new Design Edition package, which will be offered exclusively for the 2023 model year.

The Design Edition package gives the 2023 S6 and S7 models a stunning, high-end look that emphasizes both vehicles' sophisticated forms. The Design Edition features Liquid Dark Chrome exterior highlights, as well as a high-gloss Black optic package with Black Audi rings and insignia, demonstrating the aesthetic balance needed to distinguish the S6 and S7. A Brilliant Black-painted roof, as well as Liquid Dark Chrome highlights on the front and rear bumpers, lend an elegant classic touch. The darkened Matrix-design LED headlights included in the Prestige trim level for S6 and S7 vehicles look fabulous with the Arrow Gray exterior paint, which is exclusive to the Design Edition package.

Customers can also choose from a variety of other hues, including Brilliant and Mythos Black Metallic, Daytona Gray Pearl Effect, Firmament Blue Metallic, Florett Silver Metallic, Glacier White Metallic, Tango Red Metallic, and Ultra Blue Metallic. The matte black Singleframe grille and high-gloss black window surrounds are complemented by the vehicle's other black elements. The side window surround trim and exterior mirror housings in Brilliant Black match the Design Editions' overall intimidating stance. The S6 Design Edition's rear spoiler is finished in a stunning Brilliant black paint treatment.

The Design Edition package also includes red-painted brake calipers on the front and rear, providing a bold pop of color behind the dynamic Audi Sport 21-inch 5-V-spoke structured design cast aluminum wheels on the S6, and 21-inch 5-V-spoke trapezoid design cast aluminum wheels on the S7, providing each model its own personality. The Audi beam puddle lights, which project the Audi "S" emblem from beneath the vehicle's doors and onto the ground whenever doors are opened, serve as a reminder of the vehicle's sporty character to both drivers and passengers.

The Design Edition package enhances the innately sporty appeal of the 2023 S6 and S7 by including an Audi Sport design interior with red stitching. Dinamica, a breathable microfiber fabric made in part with sustainable polyester fibers that offers a sporty feel and exquisite design finish, has been added to the gear selector, lower console, and knee pads. The Valcona leather-covered Black S sport seats complement the dark interior perfectly. The Design Edition package's dynamic character is further enhanced with red contrast stitching on the center portion of the seats, door armrests, knee pads, and the RS-style flat-bottom Alcantara-covered heated steering wheel. The black safety belts have red borders for a finishing touch.

For the first time in the S6 and S7 models, the electric-powered compressor (EPC) system is combined with the 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged, 444-horsepower TFSI V6 engine. The system consists of an electric motor with a compact turbine that helps rapidly create turbo boost pressure, improving throttle response and minimizing any apparent turbo "lag." It is exclusive for the S6 and S7. When the engine accelerates, a valve in the EPC system closes, allowing air to flow in a parallel path throughout the engine. Even when the engine is turned off, the EPC system is constantly on, ready to respond to the driver's demand for more power.

The Design Edition package will cost US$2,500.
