US-spec Nissan X-Trail gets major updates

MANILA: Nissan has given the United States-specification X-Trail (known there as the Rogue) some major updates.

These include a new Rock Creek trim and the ProPILOT Assist 2.1 driver assistance technology.

“The 2025 Nissan Rogue is ready for even more adventure both on and off the open highway, with a new rugged Rock Creek edition and the introduction of ProPILOT Assist 2.1 driver assistance technology. These further enhancements to Nissan's popular SUV (sport utility vehicle) follow a stunning visual refresh for Rogue and the addition of Google built-in for the 2024 model year,” Nissan wrote in a press release.

Nissan Rogue Rock Creek

The Nissan Rogue Rock Creek edition gifts the SUV with a unique gloss black front grille with silver accents, a redesigned front fascia featuring Lava Red accents, gloss black sideview mirrors and a tubular roof rack with integrated cross bars, also accented in Lava Red.

It rides on 17-inch satin black wheels shod on 235/65 R17 Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires.

Enhancements to the cabin include water-repellent leatherette seating with unique inserts, Lava Red accent stitching, and piano black dashboard trims.

Further, the Nissan Rogue Rock Creek edition comes with heated front seats and a 12-volt power outlet in the cargo area. Its high-definition intelligent around-view monitor gets an added off-road view mode that can operate while driving at speeds up to 19.31 kilometers per hour.

Also included is an all-wheel drive system with hill descent control.

An available premium package adds a touch of luxury to the adventurous spirit of Rogue Rock Creek with a wireless charging pad, heated steering wheel, four-way power passenger seat, motion-activated power liftgate, memory driver's seat and outside mirrors, reverse tilt-down outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, auto dimming rearview mirror and interior LED accent lighting.

ProPILOT Assist 2.1

The Nissan Rogue is now also equipped with the brand’s ProPILOT Assist 2.1 navigation system.

Per Nissan, the said feature is capable of handling acceleration, steering assistance, and braking when attentive drivers take their hands off the steering wheel in single-lane freeway operation.

Nissan Rogue powertrain

In the US, the Nissan Rogue is powered by a 1.5-liter Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine. The carmaker explained that the said powerplant is capable of continuously adjusting its compression ratio to seamlessly optimize power or efficiency, depending on driver demand.

Mated to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, the said powerplant makes as much as 201 horses with 305 Newton-meters of pulling power.

Pricing

The Nissan Rogue has a base price of $28,850 (approximately P1.686 million).
