Vigor Mendoza Appointed as New LTO Chief

MANILA: Malacañang announced on Wednesday that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed 1-United Transport Koalisyon (1-UTAK) Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II as the new Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief.

According to the list of appointments posted by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on its official Facebook page, Mendoza will lead the LTO and hold the rank of Assistant Secretary.

Mendoza served as the representative for the 1-UTAK party-list group, supporting the transportation sector.

He previously sat as a board member of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and is a former trustee of the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation.

Mendoza also led the Philippine Delegation to the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Transport Summit in Malaysia and became a resource speaker on the Philippine Property Market in different countries around the world.

An affiliated agency of the Department of Transportation, the LTO is entrusted with registering vehicles; issuing driver's and conductor's licenses and permits; implementing transportation laws, rules, and regulations; and settling apprehension cases.
