VinFast mulls over VF 3 introduction to PH

HANOI: While the company has yet to start the retail of its products in the country, the VinFast Philippines leadership is already contemplating on expanding its roster with the possible introduction of the VF 3 to the local market.  

During a meeting with select members of the Philippine motoring media and influencers, VinFast Philippines Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc shared that the mini sport utility vehicle (SUV) might join the lineup within the year.

“We are considering bringing the VF 3, which is a very popular model in Vietnam, to Philippine market this 2024,” the chief executive for the automotive giant’s Philippine arm said.

VinFast Philippines earlier confirmed that its initial lineup would be comprised of the VF e34, VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9.

While waiting for possible arrival in the Philippines, here are some bits of information about the marque’s popular model in its home country.

The VinFast VF 3 is 3,190 millimeters (mm) long; 1,679 mm wide; and 1,622 mm tall that offers a 2,075 mm wheelbase and 191 mm ground clearance. Its overall boxy look has a modern touch, which could be appealing to the younger generation.

Inside, the VinFast VF 3 can carry four passengers and haul up to 285 liters of cargo. It also has a 10-inch touchscreen entertainment system.

Moving the vehicle is a 32-kilowatt electric motor that has a peak power output of 110 Newton-meters. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration lets the electric vehicle reach 50 kilometers per hour from rest in 5.3 seconds.

The mill is powered by an 18.64 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that gives a range of up to 210 kilometers when fully charged (based on New European Driving Cycle standards). The battery can be charged 10 to 70 percent in a span of 36 minutes.
