Volkswagen Group BEV sales grow by 27% in H1 2022
MANILA: The Volkswagen Group reported a 27% increase in all-electric vehicle sales in the first six months of 2022 compared to the prior year. Despite supply shortages, a brief halt in production in Europe, and COVID-related lockdowns in China, 217,100 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have been delivered to customers in the first half of the year, an increase from 170,900 in the same period the previous year. Some 5.6% percent of sales were BEVs, up from 3.4 % of 2021. China was the major growth driver, accounting for 63,500 BEVs, a more than threefold rise from the same period last year.
