We are all-clear unlike the fraudster VW, says Mazda and Fiat Chrysler
MANILA: Gloomy days have surrounded the auto industry, what all started as a diesel engine emission scandal, is now transformed into a race. A race to prove that one is not wrong, a race that will prove that one's name should not be included with the defaulters. And the one who fails to pass the finishing line will lose not only financially but will also hamper the consumer trust that is not easily to re-built.
Three such names have recently surfaced, proving that they follow what they preach. To the said list are included Fiat Chrysler, Mazda and BMW, all of them announcing loudly how they are different from the culprits (VW, Skoda, and Seat to be precise). All the three above-mentioned came out clear and published their respective official statements saying that none of them uses any 'defeat device' to circumvent the emission test.
Brands and their Statements -
Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) confirms that they fully comply with the standards and “all applicable testing and nitrogen oxides emission requirements relating to the homologation of its diesel vehicles.” They also added that none of their cars is armed with any ill-software, adding they fully support the EU in its work to update the current homologation procedures.
Mazda, is not behind and the company didn't delayed a bit in issuing a press statement saying “Mazda works hard to ensure that every gasoline and diesel engine it makes fully complies with the regulations of the countries in which they are sold,” Adding to the statement, the brand further said that it will never cheat on to its customers and will always keep its hands away from the device like one used by VW. Madaz stressed on the fact that they will continue to develop technologies that would emit fewer oxides while delivering excellent performance at the same time.
We recently reported you about the Auto Bild report wherein the German publication accused BMW car (BMW X3 xDrive 20d) of exceeding emission standards. And as a reply BMW issued a press release stating that the brand is not involved in any malpractice that could lead to manipulation during the emission test. “Our exhaust treatment system are active whether rolling on the test bench or driving on the road.”
