With New Variants of Jetta, Tiguan and Polo Sedan, Volkswagen Philippines has a Strong 2016 Plan
MANILA: In the year 2016, you'll see a whole new Volkswagen making its debut in the Philippines. The hope iceberg was broken by the top VW officials at the recently held Volkswagen Media Thanksgiving Party, where the first bit of information about new Jetta variants along with all-new Polo Sedan and a new 2.0 TDI Tiguan was revealed. In addition, the event uncovered VW 2016 sales plan, wherein it hopes to achieve a 40% sales hike. Such high numbers it plans to attain by introducing new model line-up, new dealerships, and advanced variants.
To start off, let’s first see what new Filipinos will get in the form of an addition to the existing line-up. The new compact SUV Tiguan will get a 2.0 TDI AT engine that will be accompanied by great exterior and interior specification. On the exterior front, you'll see new Bi-Xenon headlamp with LED daytime running lights and washer, power folding heated ORVM and 'New York' 18-inch alloy wheels. On the interior, it will get comforting 12-way adjusting 'Vienna' leather wrapped seats, and a head-up audio unit with FM/AM, MP3, USB, Aux-in and CD system. Also, as for update VW Tiguan GTE Active Concept was recently unveiled at 2016 North American International Auto Show and you never the Philippines centered Tiguan can get some clue from it.
Next in line is the all-new Polo Sedan that like the former received both exterior and interior transformation. The 2016 Polo sedan will have Halogen H7 headlights, and redesigned bumper on the front, the side profile will have 15-inch Tosa alloy wheels and body-colored door handles. Lastly, the rear profile will hold new taillight graphics, edgy bumper, and a remote controlled tailgate.
The 2016 Jetta has received maximum alteration of the three, starting of the car would be available in two variants- top grade Comfort trim and base variant Trendline. The top variant will house a 2.0L Turbo 4-CYL diesel mill that will generate a maximum power of 140 PS at 4200 rpm along with a peak torque of 320 Nm at 1750 rpm. The Trendline trim, on the other hand, will have a 1.4L petrol mill that will churn out 160 PS of power at 5800 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1500-4500 rpm.
The exterior of new Jetta variant will showcase redesigned headlamp, bumper and fog lamps on the front. The car will now stand on new 'Queensland' 17-inch alloy wheels (for Comfort) and 16-inch 'Navara' alloy wheels (for Trendline). The interior gets a 5-inch touchscreen with FM/AM, MP3 player, CD, USB, AUX-in, and Bluetooth functioning. Comfort and convenience level is increased by front and rear armrest, and rear air-con vents.
It seems that dropping of Das Auto slogan and hiring of new Design Chief Michael Mauer will bring great fortune for VW. As for the Philippines, the company apart from introducing new variants is under talk to open new dealerships in major cities. But before that, the company will open sale points to see if the selected locations will prove beneficial in the future or not.
Let's hope the entire planning works right for Volkswagen Philippines and helps it achieve its 2016 goal.
