From The Experts
Things we like
|
Efficient tourer: The Ford Everest is a great highway cruiser. It offers a well-balanced constant speed on the highway. Build quality: The Everest is a true-blue SUV and has a solid build quality. The body is manufactured from high-grade iron that provides a safe drive. Great powertrain: The 2.0-litre bi-turbocharged diesel engine along with the 10-speed AT creates a potent powertrain that shows its colors on the highway. Comfortable: The cabin has ample space to carry seven passengers. Unlike compact SUVs, there’s no shortage of space inside Everest. |
One thing which really makes the Mitsubishi Montero Sport praiseworthy is the gorgeous looks it has been bestowed with. The Montero Sport completely ditches the traditional old school stance for a much more modern and futuristic take, which completely has taken the benchmark to a whole new level. Being a large seven-seater, Mitsubishi has managed to rake insufficient amount of space on the inside. While the seats feel comfortable with ample back and under thigh support, all the three rows, including the third one feels spacious for even tall people with ease. The previous generation Montero lacked behind its rivals in terms of comfort and convenience features, but not this one. The new generation Mitsubishi Montero Sport comprises of a long list of features which the rival SUVs are equipped with, with some of the features being exclusive to it. |
Things we don't like
|
Tight city handling: Since Everest is a big car, handling it within the city isn’t easy. It requires some practice. Compact SUVs can be more easily negotiated. Expensive: Everest is the most expensive vehicle in its class. There are several better options that offer the same comfort and features at a lesser price. Noisy: While the powertrain itself is efficient, it does get noisy at times, especially during revving and cruising. Ford should look into this. Less refinement: Everest’s engine isn’t too refined at a higher rpm. There’s a bit of vibration as the car peaks out the maximum power. |
The new Mitsubishi Montero Sport has been designed with utmost precision and modernity on the outside. However, on the inside, things are not as radical, as the cabin and dashboard feel plain and not that uber cool. The instrument console as well as the center console which features the touch screen infotainment system, could have been designed in a more radical way, which would have complemented the exterior design fully. |
