Here are your alternatives to the Suzuki Gixxer Fi

The Suzuki Gixxer Fi is arguably one of the most good-looking 150 cubic centimeter (cc) motorbikes on the market today.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the possible alternatives to the Suzuki Gixxer Fi?

The possible alternatives to the Suzuki Gixxer Fi are the Yamaha MT-15 and the Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi.
  • How much is the Suzuki Gixxer Fi?

The Suzuki Gixxer Fi is priced at P102,900.
  • On that note, many motorcycle shoppers consider it among their top choices when buying a new motorbike. Thanks to its perfect balance of good looks, decent power, and relatively up-to-date features, the Suzuki Gixxer Fi makes for a great daily driver, especially for those looking to travel considerable distances in and out of the metro.

But what about those who simply can’t get a hold of a Suzuki Gixxer Fi — or those who purchase from dealerships that ran out of stock of the mid-size motorbike? That said, we take a quick look at some of your other options if you want a ride that’s similar to the Gixxer Fi.

    Yamaha MT-15

The Yamaha MT-15 is a good alternative to the Suzuki Gixxer Fi. For one, the former packs a fuel-injected 155cc engine, which is somewhat in the same league as the latter. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed constant mesh transmission system.

    Yamaha MT-15

Another notable feature offered by the Yamaha MT15 is its good looks — enough to rival that of the Suzuki GSX-R’s little brother. At the fore are aggressive-looking headlamps with two angular turn signals protruding at the top of its small cowling. It also wears skimpy fairings on the side, just enough to hide some of its components but still show some muscle.

It rides on 17-inch lightweight cast wheels wrapped with tubeless tires.

When it comes to rider comfort and convenience, the Yamaha MT-15 gets an upside-down fork at the front and a swingarm-type suspension at the rear. It also comes with an inverted LCD meter panel to show riders relevant data regardless of the time and weather.

The Yamaha MT-15 is priced at P178,000.

    Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi

The Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi is fitted with a slightly larger engine that has a displacement of 160.3cc. It is mated to a five-speed constant mesh transmission system to deliver more power in lower bandwith and smoother shifting action.

    Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi

At the fore, the Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi also boasts a good-looking fascia but has a more rounded appearance, unlike the aforementioned Yamaha MT-15. This translates to larger headlamps and two turn signals, which are located at the bottom area of the cowling. It also has a relatively small windshield that does very little to protect the rider from the elements.

It packs fewer panels than the Yamaha MT-15, which is obvious due to the lack of an engine guard at the bottom of the motorbike. Nevertheless, it does offer a rather muscular look due to the ideal proportion of angles and contours on its fairings.

It does, however, come with an extended mudguard and a more substantial chain cover than the Yamaha MT-15.

Notable features of the Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi include its front disc brake that complements its large wheels and tubeless tires as well as its rear mono shock suspension setup with “Nitrox” as well as its 12-liter fuel tank.

The Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 Fi has a price tag of P99,900.

    Final thoughts

The two models are viable options should one require a ride similar to the Suzuki Gixxer Fi.

For reference, the Suzuki Gixxer Fi is fitted with a 154.9cc engine mated to a five-speed manual, mechanical transmission system. It has a sticker price of P102,900.
