Together with the V-Strom 250 SX, the Gixxer SF 250 is likewise considered the spearheader for Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s (SPI) sub-400-cubic centimeter (cc) lineup with its accessible price of P192,900. As such, it has garnered much attention at recent SPI events, such as the first-ever Moto Fest held in Calamba, Laguna.

Impactful styling

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is sure to wow onlookers with its super sport-inspired styling. Specifically, it wears a set of full fairings that helps it mimic the stance and presence of larger motorcycles like the GSX-8R. 

Apart from the slick styling cues of the Suzuki-made bike, having fairings will also help it become more aerodynamic. Being able to cut smoothly through air will, of course, mean better performance and efficiency. 

Having chunky fairings can likewise help hide some components of the bike. The aforementioned isn’t a big deal per se (since naked bikes exist), but some owners might like the added protection. 

Mechanically competent

Based on the on-paper specifications of the Gixxer SF 250, it promises to be a mechanically competent bike for the price. 

For starters, its 249-cc single-cylinder four-stroke motor can produce a healthy 26 horsepower and 22.6 Newton-meters of torque. The aforementioned doesn’t sound much but note that the Suzuki model weighs a mere 161 kilograms. 

Additionally, the bike comes standard with front and rear disc brakes paired with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). Having ABS, of course, is crucial for on-board driving, especially in the local setting where it can be chaotic, to say the least. 

The Suzuki-made two-wheeler also depends on an oil-based cooling system, which is noteworthy since it is known to be more efficient than air-based cooling systems. 

Other noteworthy mechanical bits of the Gixxer SF 250 include an injected fuel system, a pair of tubeless tires, an oil-damped telescopic front fork, a rear swing arm suspension, and a 12-liter fuel tank - among others. 

Comfortable seating

The Gixxer SF 250 has a seat height of 800-millimeters, which sounds substantial. It is taller compared to scooters and smaller displacement models, but it provides good support and cushioning for a variety of ride body types. 

Despite the supersport look of the Suzuki bike, the seating position isn’t too aggressive. Due to its wide handlebar and good positions of its foot pegs, one can actually ride it with an upright position, which is great for folks planning to utilize the ride as a daily. 

At the same time, however, the seat of the model has enough room for riders who want to go low down into a more streamlined stance for going fast. Of course, we always advise riders to keep it within the speed limit, but having the ability to switch between a relaxed stance and an aggressive and low position is always a plus.

Only one color option

While the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 looks handsome with its super sport-style design, it has one weakness: it only has one exterior color option. 

Sure, the Metallic Triton Blue looks good with its blue and silver hues mixed in with the model’s contrasting black pieces, but some would-be adopters might prefer other shades as well. 

In other markets, such as India, the sporty Suzuki is likewise available in Metallic Matte Stellar Blue, which covers most of the bike’s body in a darker blue hue. Another is Metallic Matte Black, which provides a stealthier all-black look for the motorcycle model.
