Today, we check out some of the reasons why you should consider adding the Suzuki Raider J Crossover to your bike garage.
Sporty, adventurous appeal
The Suzuki Raider has always been seen as a sporty underbone motorcycle. That said, the nameplate’s appeal has stuck with Filipino moto enthusiasts cementing it as a bike that not only looks fast, but has the performance to really back it up.
Design cues from the original Suzuki Raider trickled down to the Raider J Crossover, as seen from its slim and sleek body with narrow fairings on its flanks. Barely covered is its engine, which has been a trademark not only for the Raider model but also for most underbone bikes.
Adding to that are several elements usually offered by off-road motorcycles often referred to as motocross bikes. These are the Suzuki Raider J Crossover’s lightweight and simple cowling, small headlamp, long and almost beak-like front fender, its long and skinny front fork, and spoked wheels.
Overall, the said body features give the Suzuki Raider J Crossover a look that offers a beautiful mix of a sporty and adventurous motorcycle befitting owners that have similar outgoing characters.
And to make it stand out, Suzuki gave the Raider J Crossover a bright yellow paint, a bright blue saddle, and various trims that mix both the yellow and blue hues for its hero color. Other available finishes include Flame Red, Grand Blue, and Solid Black.
Dual-purpose bike
The Suzuki Raider J Crossover is touted as a dual-purpose motorcycle capable of easily cruising through paved rural roads and is equipped to conquer rough thoroughfares outside the metro.
According to Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, the Raider J Crossover was designed for Philippine roads. Per the motorcycle brand, the Raider J Crossover “is set to conquer the paved and the unpaved roads whether it may be in the city or the countryside” and is “a ride that will give you adventure across borders.”
The aforementioned long front fork boasts a large diameter of 31 millimeters. To help protect it from rocks and debris common in rough provincial roads, the said suspension system is fitted with rubber boots. It also holds together a 17-inch spoked wheel wrapped with 70/90 tubeless semi-block tires for better performance.
Its rear-end suspension is engineered to endure similar punishment as it gets a swing arm-type double-tube setup. In betwixt the said shock absorbers is also a 17-inch spoked wheel, but is shod in 80/90 rubber — also with semi-block design.
To better aid in braking, Suzuki endowed the Raider J Crossover with a petal disc brake at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Power comes from a 113 cubic centimeter engine mated to a four-speed constant mesh transmission. It produces 9.11 horses with 51 Newton-meters of pulling power.
An affordable semi-off-road bike
While not specifically intended for off-roading, the Suzuki Raider J Crossover can still conquer slightly rough terrains.
On that note, it comes as an affordable semi-off-road bike that one can use for moving from point A to point B when expecting rugged pathways or jagged tracks.
Per Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, the Raider J Crossover has a sticker price of 69,900.
