The 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 is pegged at P710,000.What is the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) found in the GSX-S1000?
Basically, the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) tailors the bike's performance depending on rider ability and road conditions. The GSX-S1000 packs a liquid-cooled 999cc four-cylinder engine, which makes 150hp and 106Nm of torque. Suzuki Philippines said the engine now gives a smoother torque curve throughout the engine's mid- to high-rpm range. It is also mated to a Quick Shift system in the manual transmission.
The GSX-S1000's engine is linked to a compact 4-2-1 exhaust system with new catalytic converters and a revised chamber design to satisfy Euro 5 emissions standards.
Its finely tuned fuel injection system uses 10-hole, long-nosed injectors on each throttle body to maximize loading efficiency and performance, while also contributing to lower fuel consumption.
Meanwhile, the SIRS will allow the rider to optimize the GSX-S1000's performance characteristics according to his or her riding style, level of experience, and riding conditions.
The SIRS includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) feature, which aims to deliver maximum engine output while allowing control over the level of throttle response, and torque characteristics when accelerating. There are three modes in SDMS.
The first mode is the Active mode in which the sharpest throttle response is delivered as soon as the throttle is opened. Torque output is likewise finely tuned, and this mode is ideal when the GSX-S1000 is taken on track days, or back-road blasting.
Basic mode features softer throttle response, and a more linear power delivery curve as the throttle is opened. Settings here are tuned to fit a wide range of riding styles, conditions, and to help make the bike more controllable in everyday riding.
Comfort mode exhibits even softer throttle response and more gentle torque characteristics.
Also included is SIRS is the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS). STCS is programmed to continuously monitor front and rear wheel speed, engine RPM, throttle position, gear position, and designed to limit power to prevent slipping when it determines a sudden loss of traction.
Boasting a performance-tuned suspension, the 2022 GSX-S1000 has a fully adjustable 43mm KYB Inverted front forks and adjustable link-type rear suspension. The wheels are shod in Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport2 tires, and Brembo brakes are fitted for nimble, predictable handling.
Aside from LED head- and tail lights and signal lights, the 2022 GSX-S1000 features an LCD instrument cluster. The LCD display shows readouts for lap times, SDMS mode, if the Quick Shift switched on or off, battery voltage, RPM indicator, and service reminder.
The 2022 GSX-S1000 comes in three colors: Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Matte Mechanical Gray, and Glass Sparkle Black.
