Aprilia SR GT to combine city, adventure bike qualities

MANILA: Motoitalia has introduced the Aprilia SR GT scooter in 125 and 200 versions at the recent Inside Racing Bike Festival and Trade Show.  

The Aprilia SR GT features a motorcycle-inspired naked handlebar, long-travel suspension, increased ground clearance, and all-terrain tires.  

All of these are combined with the Aprilia i-get 174cc engines  complete with Start & Stop system, and comprehensive equipment that includes full LED lights, LCD instrumentation and the optional Aprilia MIA connectivity system. 

The SR GT's front suspension boasts a Showa fork with 33 millimeter stanchions and 122mm of travel, 22% more than that of its closest competitor, Motoitalia claimed. The rear features two double-acting Showa shock absorbers with coil spring and five-position adjustable pre-load, and travel equating to 102mm, which is 7% more than the competition.

With a minimum ground clearance of 175mm, the SR GT allows the rider to easily surmount any bumps in the road and descend from any altitude, or city obstacles such as cobblestones, tram lines, manhole covers, potholes, and uneven asphalt. 

Belonging to the i-get family are a pair of liquid-cooled Euro 5 engines that power the SR GT.  The Aprilia SR GT 200 introduces the brand-new 174cc single-cylinder, which boasts 13kW of power at 8,500rpm and 16.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm

Thanks to the Start & Stop system that automatically switches off the engine when the scooter idles, the SR GT can net an estimated fuel consumption from 38.5kpl to 40kpl.  

If the SR GT has been optioned with the Aprilia MIA connectivity, a smartphone can be connected to the motorcycle via Bluetooth. Then, instrument panel will display notifications regarding incoming calls and messages, enable call management through buttons or voice command, and control playlists for music.
