BMW Motorrad Concept Link Scooter Revealed
MANILA: As a part of Vision Next 100 series, BMW Motorrad has revealed its Concept Link Scooter at the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’este 2017 in Italy. The concept vehicle is targeted towards zero emissions and future mobility - The Concept Link. In order to ensure zero emission, the scooter is equipped with an E-drive system. It also gets a reverse gear and built on aluminum structure. The low-slung body of the scooter is beneficial for the shorter riders while the adjustable seat further improves the comfort.
At the front, the Concept Link gets two LED lights, covered wheels, and twin C-shaped rear taillights. In order to update the rider about its next destination, the Concept Link interface can be linked to the rider’s calendar. The Concept Link moved away from the conventional instrument cluster and opted to depict vital information like speed, distance, battery level, navigation on the windscreen of the scooter directly. Another display is positioned on the large surface panel between the handlebars.
The scooter is accompanied by a functional water-repellent jacket that gets shoulder and elbow protectors. For luggage, the Concept Link gets an under seat compartment that is operated through the movement of the arm of the rider’s jacket. BMW is also offering a set of customization options with the scooter and consumers can choose a different set of side panels and windshields according to the requirement.
Following the self-balancing electric motorcycle concept, which was revealed last year, the Concept Link might turn out to be the successor of C Evolution. According to BMW Motorrad Head Of Design, the Concept Link is the evolution of urban mobility and manages to bridge digital and analog world perfectly. It is not just a concept, it is the beginning of a new era.
Let’s see when the BMW Concept Link hits the production floor and changes the face of two-wheeler industry.
