Ducati Panigale V4-riding TJ Alberto attains 4th PSBK title

MANILA: Access Plus Racing’s Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto, aboard his #77 Ducati Panigale V4, has attained his fourth consecutive Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) after gaining podium finishes at the 2024 season’s penultimate round.

The season’s two final races were held at Clark International Speedway, where Alberto and his Ducati managed to set a record-breaking 1-minute and 48-second qualifying time, earning the racer a P2 on the starting grid for the races. 

Admittedly, the Access Plus Racing team tackled the competition with extra caution in order to avoid a DNF (did not finish) since they needed only one race win to secure the championship win. Regardless, Alberto managed to cross the finish line in second place after keeping a close distance from his #189 Aprilia rival in the final round’s first race. 

On the second race, the Access Plus Racing rider wrapped his run cleanly with another second-place finish, thus earning him and his team the fourth PSBK title. 

In 2024 alone, the Ducati Panigale units aided Alberto and Access Plus in securing 35 wins out of 42 races. The aforementioned translates to a 72 percent win ratio. 

While all the aforementioned sounds impressive, the team isn’t resting on its laurels just yet. In fact, it is looking forward to fielding the new upcoming Panigale in  2025 for Alberto’s bid to secure his 5th consecutive championship title. 

“I’m super happy to win my 4th PSBK title. It’s really an amazing feeling and I didn’t expect to reach this level when we started. I never even expected to win one championship and to have four now is a huge blessing,” Alberto said. 

“It’s been an amazing team effort by Access Plus Racing and it couldn’t be done without the help of the whole team. I feel that this year we showed that we can be competitive in all situations - on both tracks, in the wet or in the dry,” Alberto added.
