Ducati updates Panigale V2 at 2024 EICMA

MANILA: Ducati has introduced the updated Panigale V2 at the 2024 Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) in Milan, Italy.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much horsepower and torque can the updated Ducati Panigale V2 produce?

The updated Ducati Panigale V2 can produce up to 120 horsepower and 93.5 Newton-meters of torque.
  • How much does the updated Ducati Panigale V2 weigh?

The Ducati Panigale V2 weighs 176 kilograms.
  • While leaner and less powerful compared to the pre-updated version, the revamped Panigale V2 is still touted as a speedy and very agile two-wheeler, which tips the scales at a mere 176 kilograms (Kg) in the guise of the top-spec S trim. Per the brand, the said figure makes the model the “lightest Panigale of all time.”

With regard to the bike’s V2 mill, the Italian brand said that it is capable of outputting up to 120 horsepower (hp) and 93.5 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Notably, 70 percent of the said peak torque can be reached by the bike early in the rev range at 3,000 revolutions per minute. Plus, it is 9.4 kg lighter compared to the older version’s engine

For reference, the locally available pre-updated Panigale V2 can put out 155 hp and 104 Nm of torque.

Depending on the trim, the new Panigale V2 comes with slightly different suspension systems. The standard variant uses a Marzocchi fork and a Kayaba rear shock absorber, while the higher-spec Panigale V2 S features Öhlins front and rear suspension components.

Both versions, however, were fitted with a full Brembo braking system with 320-millimeter front discs, supersport 120/70-17 front and 190/55-17 rear tires, as well as a newly developed double-sided swingarm derived from the larger Panigale V4

Other notable features of the lightweight bike include traction control, engine brake control, an anti-wheelie system, a sport-tuned anti-locking brake system, and a six-axis inertial measurement unit. All the aforementioned features are controlled by the model’s four customizable ride modes, which in turn, can be manipulated through a five-inch TFT display.

For now, there’s no news as to when the updated Ducati Panigale V2 will enter the local market. The older version, however, is available locally for P1.19 million.
