Get yourself a 2020 Suzuki Katana for Php 817,000
MANILA: It all started with the GSXS1100S Katana that made its debut in the year 1981. The rest stands as history, as the Suzuki Katana went on to became one of the most iconic motorcycles around the globe. Besides, Suzuki still decided to discontinue the Katana, and a void had been created in the motorcycle industry. There are no worries anymore, though.
The Katana is back, and that too in some style. The all-new Katana came out at the 2018 International Motorcycle & Scooter Fair held in Cologne, Germany, and now, the Japanese icon has entered the Philippines as well.
Addressing the design language of the all-new Suzuki Katana, the newest iteration does take some styling cues from the old-gen model. However, while the iconic Katana was designed by Target Designs that comprised of BMW designers Hans Muth, Jan Fellstrom, and Hans-Georg Kasten, the newer model that comes based on the GSX-S1000 has been penned by Italian Rodolfo Frascoli. The likes of a sword-like point that makes the front half of the motorcycle, clean tail section, and some bold and aggressive character lines give the new Katana its identity.
The 2019 Suzuki Katana sports new subframe that not only makes it look different than the GSX-S1000 but also provides with a clean and sleek appearance along with featuring the rear fender, number plate assembly, and the turn signal indicator on the swingarm. In terms of mechanicals, the Japanese icon is powered by a 999cc inline-four motor that churns out 150hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 108 Nm. The motorcycle also gets Low RPM-Assist,three-level traction control, upside-own forks, LCD instrument cluster, and anti-lock braking system.
The new Katana is available for Php 817,000 and you can get yourself one right away. Also, for the customers who reserved a unit for them at the Moto Heritage Weekend, Suzuki will gift them a Katana special helmet manufactured by Arai.
