Here is the Superleggera, Ducati’s most powerful bike ever
MANILA: Ducati motorcycles look stunning, run fast, and have got all the ingredients that are required to be a proper superbike, right? However, the Italian bike maker didn't seem to be satisfied with its already on offer models and has come up with an exclusive offering in the form of the Superleggera. With that said, Ducati is all-set to manufacture 500 units of its most powerful and rich in tech motorcycle that it has ever produced.
Pretty much all of the Ducati Superleggera is made up of carbon-fibre, albeit the engine, exhaust, tyres, and other mechanical bits and pieces. Even the swingarm, wheels, and the frame are made up of carbon-fibre. Also, there are titanium parts with further contribute to the light-weight structure of the bike. The suspension setup on the Ducati Superleggera includes fully-adjustable Ohlins gas-charged forks at the front and a fully-adjustable Ohlins mono-shock with titanium springs and GP-derived valves at the rear.
Powering it exclusivity is a 998cc V4 motor that generates 224 PS of maximum power. Put on the Akrapovic titanium racing exhaust kit, and you have 234 PS right in your wrist. While the standard model weighs 159-kg, customers can have the racing kit installed and bring down the total weight to 152.2-kg. Ridiculous power needs extraordinary brakes, and for that, Ducati has equipped with the Superleggera with Brembo MCS calliper levers and Stylema R brake callipers.
The Ducati Superleggera is expected to be priced at around 1,00,000 Euros (roughly Php 5,521,653), and there will also be on offer the likes of Dainese leather suit with integrated airbag and an Arai carbon fibre helmet which will flaunt graphics and styling similar to the motorcycle. The most interesting part of the deal, however, remains to be the chance of riding a 2020 Desmosedici GP20 race bike on the track. So, are you ready to shell out Php 5,521,653 for an insanely light and fast motorcycle? That too one of the 500 units to be produced.
