Updates
While waiting for YMPH's’ official announcement on its detailed specifications (as well as pricing), here’s what Zigwheels Philippines learned about the new Yamaha Sniper 155 at the event.
The front fairing of the new Yamaha Sniper 155 feature comes with more prominent lines and sharper edges compared to the currently marketed version with the upper left and right portions stretched a little — giving better coverage to the rider.
The plastic slat where the emblem is seated now features three slots, contrary to the outgoing version that only has one.
Also noticeable is the new body color option as apart from the signature Race Blu, and Black Raven, the all-new Yamaha Sniper 155 comes with a youthful Cyan hue.
We are expecting no changes in the powertrain set-up so the new version will likely have the potent four-stroke, four-valve single overhead cam engine with variable valve actuation technology that can provide a peak churn of 17.6 horsepower and 14.4 Newton-meters of torque.
The mill would probably still be mated to a six-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch function while providing the stopping power are hydraulic disc brakes.
Among the amenities found on the new Yamaha Sniper 155 are the digital meter panel, electric panel, and smart key system.
The currently-retailed Yamaha Sniper 155 (which is being offered in two variants) was introduced to the country in May 2021.
Further, a slight bump in pricing might be done on the nameplate’s pricing once it is released in the country (probably within the first half of 2024). To note, the existing version is retailed for P129,900.
