Kawasaki Racing uncover their team for 2019 WSBK

MANILA: 2019 FIM World Superbike Championship is around the corner. Come 22 Feb and many teams along with their furious riders and machines will compete for the ultimate glory. And just like before any racing event, Kawasaki has drawn the curtain, showing its teams, motorcycles, and graphics for the 2019 FIM World Superbike Championship.

Jonathan Rea will continue to lead the Kawasaki Racing Team, and the four-time champion will seek to bring more success for the brand. Jonathan Rea will be riding a Ninja ZX-10RR and will be accompanied by Leon Haslam, who has been signed by the team this year only. The pepped-up ZX-10RRs have on them brandings of Showa, Motocard, Elf Total, and Monster Energy. Kawasaki Racing Team also has many other commercial and technical partners including the aforementioned names.

Unlike the previous unveils, when Kawasaki Racing Team introduced their team in Barcelona, Spain, the brand revealed its team in Australia this year. As a matter of fact, the first round of the championship is also going to take place in Phillip Island in Australia on February 23-24. The team had already completed its winter testing in Europe, in January, and will now be going through the official tests on February 18-19. Also, note that the events this year will be three race outings with the inclusion of a Superpole Race, which will be held on the final morning of the weekend.

“To be part of such a professional team, and to see the manufacturer itself and Kawasaki Australia putting on such a massive show, is fantastic. They are really getting behind it. I just want to get going now,” said Leon Haslam at the event. Jonathan Rea cited, “KRT always push the boat out when it comes to launching the new colors and it is the first time you see your final bike in the flesh. Everything is real and now we turn the page to 2019… It is nice to do the launch here in Australia, and so close to the first race weekend”.

Guim Roda, who is the KRT Team Manager said during the event that the team is well equipped with a better machine and amazing riders, and we are going to take advantage of that during the race. Shigemi Tanaka, the Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Australia, told that today’s theme is Ganbarou, that is, we will face our challenges with a smile and try harder. While we encountered a few troubles last year, we still managed to clinch the title all due to our dedication and some amazing performances by our rider Jonathan Rea. “We will compete and, whatever the circumstances, we will try our best,” added Tanaka.
