Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 lands in the Philippines, available at Php 85,000

MANILA: Kawasaki Philippines surprised the crowd at the Annual Kawasaki Dealers Convention by launching its newest model - the Rouser NS 160. The said bike sits within the 150-200cc segment and promises utmost rush without losing out on the riding comfort.

The new addition to Kawasaki family follows the footstep of its predecessors and is a rebadged version of Bajaj Pulsar NS 160. The said Bajaj twin is already on sale in the Indian market and has gained considerable liking amongst the crowd. As for the Philippines market, we are yet to see how the new Rouser NS 160 performers and whether or not it impacts the sales of its competitors - Honda CB 150R, Apache 200, Suzuki GSX-S 150, and Yamaha SZ 16.

The Rouser NS 160 holds striking styling similarity with the bigger and bolder NS 200 model. The newest member of the Kawasaki family features a Backbone frame (borrowed from Rouser 200) and hails from the Pang Sport category.

With its dimension sheet reading an overall length of 2012 mm, the width of 803.5 mm, and height of 1060 mm, Kawasaki Rouser NS 160 is expected to attract motorcycle enthusiast looking for an upgrade from their rather dull ride to a fuller and well-structured vehicle. Enhancing the ride comfort are present a soft suspension system and single shock absorbers at the rear end. It, however, misses rear disc brake found in Rouser NS 200.  

Coming to the engine spec, the Rouser NS 160 gets its power from a 4-Stroke, SOHC, DTSi engine. The said mill, when paired to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission, churns out a maximum horsepower of 15.2 hp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 14.6 Nm at 6500 rpm.
