KTM parent company to acquire major stake in MV Agusta

KTM's parent company is Pierer Mobility AG.Pierer Mobility AG — which owns brands KTM and Husqvarna, among others — revealed that it will take a 50.1-percent share in MV Agusta.
In November 2022, KTM had a 25.1-percent share in MV Agusta.
The former then took over the supply chain and purchasing of the latter in October 2023.
Further, MV Agusta’s product range is also distributed in part via Pierer Mobility’s global sales network.
“The call option granted to KTM AG on the basis of the annual financial statements as of December 31, 2025 to acquire a majority stake in MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. will now be exercised prematurely,” Pierer Mobility wrote in a press release.
“The purchase price for the remaining 25 percent of the shares was calculated in accordance with the previously agreed valuation method (EBITDA multiple). This means that KTM AG will take over the majority and also the industrial management of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A.,” it explained.
In line with the acquisition of a major stake, MV Agusta will now have a new Chief Executive Officer. The role will be filled by Hubert Trunkenpolz.
Trunkenpolz is a member of the executive board of Pierer Mobility.
