Mighty BMW S100RR gets impressive vintage styling
MANILA: For those who are not aware, Revival Cycles is a group of young enthusiast specialising in awe-inspiring and wild customs. Most of their breathtaking work revolves around old, sometimes iconic motorcycles. But this time around, they did something different, the team catch hold of the beautiful yet power beast from BMW - the S100RR.
It all started in the year 2015 when BMW invited Revival Cycles to ride the relaunched and revamped S100RR. The event took place at ‘The Circuit of America’, one of the best tracks in the world. Back then, all this bike did was to impress the crew to their core, but it was only a year later that the Revival team came up with the idea to recreate the S100RR.
For the mission, BMW USA commissioned a brand new S100RR to the Texan based costume designers. After receiving the bike, the first thing they did was to run the bike to its full potential, for this task all they needed was a few friends and the Circuit of America.
After testing the bike’s capabilities, the team decided to work on its exhaust system and ECU tuning. But over the time the team figured that the S100RR is perfect in the performance department and didn’t need any improvement.
Next, the team landed on the styling department. New alloy framings were built to enhance S100RR smooth flowing facade. Everything from electronics, ECU to the battery were housed in the new subframe. The fuel tank was also customised, making sure its capacity increased to 22-litres. Also, to give the bike hyper-modern track machine feel, hand shaped side fairings and belly pan were installed.
There’s no doubt that the end product looked ‘vintage’ but focus under the layers as it is more than just aesthetics. Even with its new design, the BMW S100RR can still pump out a maximum power of 203 PS. Impressive, we must say.
All-in-all, customised or not, this machine from BMW is one heck of a bike.
