New 2022 KTM RC 200 promises sportiness and usability

MANILA: KTM Philippines has launched what the brand dubs as "the everyday racer," the 2022 RC 200 sports bike. The motorcycle retails for a P198,000 introductory price. 

The 2022 KTM RC 200 is a "step forward when it comes to eye-catching race bike style and everyday performance," KTM said.

The second-generation RC 200 is fitted with WP APEX big piston fork, WP Apex rear shock absorber, lightweight wheels and ABS for maximum sportiness and usability. 

At the heart of the 2022 KTM RC 200 is the proven Euro-4 200cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine generating 26hp and 19.5Nm of torque. A six-speed transmission is mated to the engine. 

According to KTM, the RC 200's mill has revised engine mapping for a improved torque figure and smoother power delivery.

Moreover, improved airflow throughout the engine allows the KTM RC 200 to run cooler, giving it the optimal performance temperature during track days or rush hour traffic, the motorcycle maker added. 

To help the rider execute hard braking without compromising safety, the 2022 KTM RC 200 is equipped with a Supermoto ABS function.  The function deactivates the brake's ABS on the rear wheel, which also allows the rider to slide the rear into a corner.

The 2022 KTM RC 200 also features an LCD instrument panel that provides important information such as a gear indicator.
