New Caltex Havoline oil range said to increase engine reliability and efficiency

MANILA: Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), which markets Havoline, recently revealed a new range of engine oils for four-stroke motorcycles and scooters. These fully synthetic, semi-synthetic, and mineral products — formulated with Havoline’s proprietary CORE+Technology, and Zoomtech — are said to maximize engine performance while delivering smoother engine operation on all road conditions.

Caltex said in a release that CORE+Technology is Havoline’s “most advanced and best-performing formulation… an improvement over the previous CORE Technology.” This enables the Super 4T and SuperMatic 4T four-stroke motorcycle and scooter engine oils, which meet API SN specifications, to lead to enhanced engine performance while bearing cleaning properties even amid “stressful” city traffic.

CORE+Technology cleans and protects the engine to maintain efficient performance while preventing oil degradation and damage from heat. Zoomtech, on the other hand, is said to deliver “better oil frictional properties,” improving clutch grip and preventing slippage, especially under high load conditions. It aids in providing maximum power transfer for enhanced acceleration.

The API SN adherence means the oil products offer “increased high temperature deposits protection for pistons, better wear control, and improved sludge control in urban, stop-and-go riding conditions.” Havoline noted that “most motorcycle and scooter engine oil brands in the region are only offering a mix of API SJ , SL, and SN products.”

Said Chevron Lubricants for Philippines Area Business Manager Hafiz Nasar “Today’s consumers are more discerning with the engine oils they choose, and most demand for better protection and performance of the engine, clutch and gearbox… We constantly improve and evolve our products to meet the latest industry standards, while also keeping abreast of the lubrication requirements of vehicle manufacturers as their engine technology advances.”

CPI cited a study that shows Asia Pacific region boasting up to 83% of the world’s total two-wheel population — some 542.2 million units. “This number is only set to grow, fueled by rising urbanization in growing economies of the APAC region and increasing demand for transport in small cities,” it said. The Philippines last year was the fifth largest market.
