Royal Enfield gets new distributor for PH market

MANILA: Royal Enfield’s local arm in the Philippines is now Motociclista Scatola.

In a statement, the company shared that the turnover of the distributorship from Hardcore Brothers Incorporated will take effect immediately.

“We are pleased to partner with Motociclista Scatola Incorporated for this strategic market. We are confident that their proven success and expertise in the two-wheeler market will synergise well with Royal Enfield’s brand and product experience. With sharp focus on the middleweight motorcycle segment, we are positive for the next phase of growth, given our robust motorcycle pipeline apt for varied consumers in the Philippines. We are confident that this partnership will further fuel our growth and ambition in the Asia Pacific region,” Royal Enfield Business Head for Asia Pacific markets Anuj Dua said.

According to him, the Philippines serves as an important market for Royal Enfield being the sixth largest two-wheeler market in the world. “We believe that our motorcycles will be ideal for riding offering customers a differentiated motorcycling experience,” the executive noted.

“As motorcycling the world over is getting extreme, we at Royal Enfield believe that we can create a wonderful space that’s more approachable and un-intimidating. Royal Enfield’s motorcycling ecosystem has something for all kinds of riders - from riding gears, lifestyle products, apparel as well as genuine motorcycle accessories. Thereby, building a strong community, happy riders and loyal customer base,” he added.

Per Dua, the brand’s form of motorcycling is centered on the idea of an absolute connection between the man, machine, and the terrain he rides through — which they call “Pure Motorcycling.”

“We have been working very hard to create evocative motorcycles that engage deeply and are fabulous to ride in real world riding conditions and speed”, he furthered.

Motociclista Scatola Incorporated (Bikerbox in Italian) is the product of the alliance between the Borromeo Motoring Group and Bikerbox Incorporated.

We are very proud to partner with the world’s oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production and further diversify the offerings to the motorcycle enthusiasts in the Philippines," Motociclista Scatola Incorporated Director Michael Victor Bondoc mentioned.

Relatedly, the brand — under its new partner locally — is set to bring over the Himalayan 450 and Super Meteor 650.

To note, the former is an existing model in the country but comes with a new powertrain set-up while the latter, a completely new nameplate (introduced in Malaysia last year) in the Philippine market
